Location

Occidental Jandia Mar is located on a quiet side street, 600m down the hill to the main road which runs alongside the extensive sandy beach of Jandia. During the summer, the hotel runs a shuttle service to the beach. Across the road from the beach, the Ventura Shopping Centre houses a supermarket, shops and dining options.

The resort is in the south of the island, approx 81km away from Fuerteventura Airport.

Facilities

Just a heads up, Barcy Waterpark will be closed from 11/11/2024 - 20/12/2024, but all other facilities - including the small splash park - will remain open.

During the low season the waterpark's opening hours will be as follows: Thursday - Sunday 11:00 - 17:00 except during these dates: 19/12 - 07/01, 08/02 - 25/02, 21/03 - 07/04 when the park will be open Tuesday - Sunday 11:00 - 17:00.

Occidental Jandia Mar is a member hotel of the Barceló Hotel Group and formerly called Barceló Jandia Mar.

Occidental Jandia Mar is set around a large outdoor pool complex which features two lagoon style pools, a pool for children and a spacious sun terrace with loungers, parasols and bar service. A heated pool, spa, fitness gym, sauna, steam bath and relaxation area are also on offer. Further leisure facilities and activities include theatre shows, evening entertainment and a range of sports such as football and volleyball. Watersports are on offer for an extra fee. A miniclub and adventure playground can entertain the kids.

Social and dining venues are plentiful. The main restaurant offers buffets of Canarian and international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The A la Carte Mediterranean restaurant is open for evening meals and requires a formal dress code and pre-booking is required along with an additional fee. Snacks and light meals are available throughout the day from the poolside snack bar. In the evenings there is pool bar, a lobby lounge bar and a nightclub.

Amenities and services available to guests include 24 hour reception, shuttle service to the beach (summer season), luggage storage, restaurant high chairs, currency exchange and air conditioning. There is also free Wi-Fi, a laundry service, medical service, safety deposit box hire, taxi bookings, excursions, car and bike hire, pool towel hire, babysitting (reservation), gift shops, a boutique, hairdresser and car parking spaces (all with local charges).

Rooms

There are 485 hotel rooms located in several buildings surrounding the pool and gardens, including double and family rooms and a variety of suites. Double rooms are en-suite and have a balcony or terrace, while family rooms comprise of two connecting double rooms. The more spacious suites have a separate bedroom and living area and a terrace overlooking Jandia Beach, as well as a luxury bathroom. All rooms have the option of a sea view. The hotel also provides five accessible rooms.

All room types feature satellite TV, a telephone, a hair dryer, a mini fridge, armchairs or sofa bed, a safe deposit box (local charge), a ceiling fan and air conditioning.
