Caribbean

The Caribbean almost guarantees long days of sunshine throughout January with very little rain. We have holidays to some excellent all inclusive style hotels in Cuba and the Dominican Republic and, who can resist the laid back cheerful atmospheres of Jamaica and Barbados. The beaches of the Bahamas provide idyllic relaxation and the verdant landscapes of Grenada are perfect for exploring. Alternatively, why not book a Caribbean cruise for the ultimate in island hopping.

India - Goa

With an almost guaranteed chance of no rain whatsoever and around 10 hours of gorgeous hot sun every day, the western coast of India is blessed with fabulous January weather. Goa lives up to the idyllic image of endless sandy beaches and swaying palm trees, to which you can add miles of plantations, lakes and rivers; distinctive colonial Portugeuse architecture, a friendly laid back atmosphere, traditional markets and flavoursome cuisine.

Cape Verde

Further south than the popular Canary Islands, the islands of Cape Verde are also just off of the African coast and basking in warm weather all year round. Rainfall is most likely between August and October. In January, there is practically zero chance of any rain and every chance of consistent warm sunshine all day long. If you want to do more than just chill-out in one of the large beachfront resort style hotels on Boavista or Sal there are plenty of opportunities for wind-surfing, diving and deep sea fishing.

Canary Islands - Gran Canaria

When the British winter starts to get you down, remember that the Canary Islands are just 4 hours flying time from London, which is a fair bit quicker and far less stressful than driving from Manchester to Devon or, from London to the Lake District. So even if its just for a long weekend break to recharge your batteries, why not consider the south-west coast of Gran Canaria. The expansive, sunny beaches of Maspalomas, the fairways of Salobre Golf, the trendy restaurants of Puerto de Mogan and the ever popular boat trips and water sports at Puerto Rico.

Dubai

Do you want to experience the world-class luxuries and entertainments of Dubai, outside of the spectacular air conditioned shopping malls but, it's usually just too hot? Then January could be the perfect choice for you because, although this is the coolest time of year in Dubai, the temperature is still likely to be around 21 degrees and whilst there is a chance of rain, the fall is minimal.

The Maldives

The average temperature in the Maldives is consistently hot and sunny all year round, but the months with the lowest rainfall are January, February and March. These tropical islands cannot fail to impress and are home to some of the most luxurious and exquisite resort-style hotels, with stunning scenery and tranquil surroundings. Spend your days exploring the colourful underwater world, lazing on the most idyllic of beaches or being pampered in a Spa before enjoying a romantic candle-lit meal by the beach and retiring to your luxury hotel room or; maybe you will stay in a water villa set in the crystal clear turquoise waters of a lagoon.

Florida Keys and Miami

January and December are typically the months with the least rain and are also outside of the hurricane season. You can expect warm temperatures of around 20 degrees throughout the day, it is less humid and, if you're visiting the theme parks you will have the luxury of it being less crowded too. The warmest resorts in January are likely to be in South Florida, so it could be a great time to visit Florida Keys, Fort Lauderdale, Downtown Miami and Miami Beach.

South Africa - Cape Town

With little chance of rain and hour upon hour of daily sunshine, January is a great time to take advantage of the outdoor activities and fabulous sight-seeing adventures in Cape Town. Plan an unforgettable itinerary including extreme sports and water sports, such as sky diving and wave surfing; soaking up the sun on heavenly beaches, exploring verdant forests and picturesque wine routes and, seeing the famous sights such as Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront.
