Location

Veligandu Island Hotel is the only resort on Veligandu Island, which is located in the North Ari Atoll of the Maldives, in the Indian Ocean. From Velana International Airport, Malé, the island can be reached by seaplane in just 15 minutes.

Facilities

Veligandu Island Hotel has long stretches of white sand beaches, a lagoon and a house reef with a diving centre offering PADI-certified courses, guided dives, sales and rentals. There is also a water sports centre equipped for windsurfing, snorkelling, jet-skiing, wake-boarding, water-skiing, kayaking and catamaran sailing.

Further leisure facilities and activities include an outdoor infinity swimming pool by the beach, a sun deck, sun loungers on the beach, a football pitch, a volleyball court, a spa, a fitness centre, and a games room with billiards, darts and table tennis.

In addition, the resort can arrange a variety of excursions such as sunset cruises, cultural sightseeing and fishing trips. There is a light evening entertainment programme which includes a DJ night, cocktail night and cultural or educational presentations.

Social and dining venues include 2 restaurants and 3 bars as well as the option for private dining experiences. The Dhonveli restaurant offers all you can eat buffet meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner and is set in a traditional thatched roof, sand floor pavilion. The Madivaru restaurant offers a la carte services with a menu of grilled meats and seafood. There is a pool-side bar serving drinks and snacks, a bar with satellite TV and board games at the beach and; the Athiri bar overlooking the lagoon.

Amenities and services available to guests include reception, guest services, a lending library and WiFi. There is also premium Wi-Fi and a gift shop with beachwear, crafts, snacks and magazines (with local charges).

There hotel has a total of 91 guestrooms, comprising Beach Villas, Water Villas and more. All accommodation has a king-size bed, a furnished private sun deck, a sitting area, WiFi, cable TV, a DVD player, a mini-fridge/bar, a telephone, a safe, a hair dryer, bathrobes, beach towels, a ceiling fan and air conditioning.
