Whilst the resorts are on the water-front, there isn't really a beach here. You do have the San Miguel marina though, from which you can take an underwater safari on the yellow submarine.
There is a long stretch of natural beach on the way to El Medano, or once there you have the surfing beaches. Alternatively, for busier beaches and water-sports, you might want to head towards Los Cristianos and the Costa Adeje, which are just 15 minutes drive away.
Things to Do
Play golf. There are two 18 hole golf courses in Golf del Sur; Golf del Sur and Amarilla Golf. Both have putting and chipping areas, a golf school and pro shop, tennis courts and a restaurant. Within 15 minutes drive, you also have the 9 hole course at Los Palos Golf and the landscaped lakes and gentle slopes of Golf Las Americas.
Go karting. Karting Club Tenerife is just 6km (10 minutes drive) and has a choice of karts and circuits for all ages and abilities.
Go surfing. You can walk along the coast from Los Abrigos to El Medano in approx 75 minutes and enjoy the sea views (driving takes approx 10 minutes, 6km). El Medano is famous in the world of windsurfing and kitesurfing and has plenty of surfing centres and chilled out bars.
Out and About

There are a number of larger tourist markets nearby; El Medano is Saturday, Los Cristianos is Sunday and Torviscas is Thursday. For produce, El Medano has a farmers market on Wednesdays.
