The Penina Hotel and Golf Resort has an impressive list of facilities and three golf courses, one of which; the Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course, is the first to have been constructed in the Algarve.
Location
Penina Golf Resort is located midway between Portimao and the Monchique Mountains and is approx 4km from the nearest shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.
Faro Airport is approx 75km from the hotel.

Set amid 360 acres, Penina Golf Resort offers a large outdoor pool, floodlit tennis courts, 3km jogging trail, putting green, driving range, resort golf course, a fitness gym and a beauty salon.
There is also a private beach with transport (seasonal) and a variety of water sports (June to September). The Kangaroo Club (seasonal) is open for children aged up to 12 years, featuring indoor and outdoor play areas, toddler area and creche with baby changing facilities.
The complex has a choice of six bars and restaurants; including a buffet restaurant which has regular theme nights, a'la carte restaurants specialising in Italian, Portuguese and international menus, a beach restaurant and a club style sports bar with large screen TV.
Other services include 24-hour reception, concierge, business centre, luggage storage, dry cleaning and laundry services, babysitting (on request), free WiFi access throughout and complimentary self parking.
Rooms
The hotel consists of 196 guest rooms and suites, most of which have a balcony or terrace. Room categories; classic rooms, pool view rooms, executive rooms, family rooms with two separate bedrooms, junior suites and grand suites.
All rooms benefit from direct dial telephone, high speed internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, satellite TV, in-room safe (local charge), mini-bar, air-conditioning and a private bathroom with hairdryer and magnifying mirror.
Guest rooms are suitable for up to 2 adults and 1 child up to 12 years; except family rooms which can accommodate up to 4 adults; junior and grand suites up to 2 adults and 2 children up to 12 years; full grand suites can sleep up to 4 adults and 2 children up to 12 years with two bedrooms.

Really disappointed
Great course, hotel staff mainly ok. I wouldn't stay there again.
