Agia Marina is nestled on the northwest coast of Crete and is relaxed during the day and has a low-key buzz at night. The town centre has plentiful restaurants and tavernas and for those looking for souvenirs there is a great selection of shops to choose from. The beach is a 2.5km stretch of sand and has been awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness. There is a good selection of watersports available or for those that prefer to relax, sunloungers are laid out for hire. Due to its length, the beach never really gets crowded even in the peak season.

The former capital city of Chania is just a 20 minute local bus ride away and here is a Venetian style harbour lined with tavernas and bars. Additionally visitors to Chania can visit the Turkish mosque, 17th century fortress and lighthouse. The local bus service which runs frequently into Chania and Platanias is just a short walk away.
