Brazil - Rio de Janerio

February is the height of summer in Rio de Janerio, so you can expect the longest days of warm sunshine with temperatures consistently in the mid twenties. On the down-side, February is one of the wetter months of the year but, the big bonus is that is also usually when the Rio Carnival takes place. The Carnival, attracting visitors from all over the world, is a fabulous 4 day experience of non-stop parties and balls, brass bands, ornate carnival floats and colourful costumes, not to mention the spectacular Samba Parade and the euphoric atmosphere. Even without the Rio Carnival, the city is atmospheric and offers plenty of sights and activities. Rio de Janerio is surrounded by stunning scenery and boasts famous beaches including Copacabana and Ipanema, the world-famous Christ the Redeemer statue and spectacular views from where it stands on the Corcovado Mountain, the cable car to Sugarloaf Mountain and scenic hiking trails through the Tijuca rainforest.

Canary Islands - Tenerife - North

Whilst February is one of the coolest months of year in Tenerife, it still enjoys around 9 hours of sunshine per day and is a very warm and welcome break from the British winter. If you would rather save the beach resorts of the south for your summer holiday, you could choose the north of the island for your winter break and enjoy fabulous views over Mount Teide and the Oratova Valley. The capital city of Santa Cruz, twinned with Rio de Janeiro, has a spectacular carnival in February which is themed, glitteringly colourful and lasts for around 12 days. Of course the city also has an historic harbour, excellent cosmopolitan duty free shopping and a protected bay and unspoiled beach. Just half an hour drive away is the charming harbour town of Puerto de la Cruz, with its cobbled streets, quaint plazas, boutiques, cafes and the picturesque Playa Jardin beach. Puerto de la Cruz is also home to the beautiful lakes and gardens of Lago Martianez and; to Loro Parque, where children and adults alike are sure to love the animals, the shows and the splendid surroundings.

Cuba

Cuba in February is fabulously sunny, inside the dry season and well outside of the hurricane season. At this time of year the waters are clear, calm and warm which is perfect for exploring the colourful marine life and the huge coral reef at Cayo Coco, where we offer a select range of stunning beachfront, resort style hotels in lush surroundings. Ideally located for exploring the historic and vibrant capital of Havana, we also offer a good choice of boutique hotels. The cultural heart of Cuba, Havana is set around a sweeping bay; discover the city squares surrounded by museums and mansions, see the statue of the legendary revolutionary Che Guevara, visit a Cigar factory and, take in a show at one of the cabaret clubs or the world famous Tropicana Nightclub. For total relaxation and paradise island scenery, deep sea fishing, snorkelling, glass bottom boat trips, pink flamingos and blue lagoons, Cayo Coco, on the Cuban Keys and linked to the main island by a causeway, has a 22km stretch of white sand, backed by mangroves and palms.

Mexico - Yutacan Peninsular

Long sunny days are all but guaranteed in Mexico in February, which ideally falls during the dry season, outside of the hurricane season and before it gets too hot and humid. Thailand

February is a good time to visit Thailand and, whether you choose the cosmopolitan Bangkok or the beautiful beaches of Phuket, February is the driest month of the year and the days are long and sunny. France - Nice

February on the French Riviera might sound a little chilly but, it's not the coldest spot in Europe by any means and besides, February in Nice is Carnival time!
