Beaches
There is a continuous stretch of beach that runs the lengh of Zona Hotelera. The beach is generally flat but slopes down to the water. A good variety of watersports such as snorkeling, jet skiing, banana boat rides and parasailing are available here. There are also plenty of places to eat and drink.
Things to Do
There is no shortage of boat trips in this area, whether it be snorkeling trips or fishing trips, you will be sure to find something of interest here.
A great way to keep cool while having fun is to visit Wet n Wild, the only water park in Cancun. There is a lazy river, water slides, bumper boats and various other attractions and is great fun for all the family.
Dolpinaris is also popular and gives visitors the opportunity to touch dolphins, swim with dolphins and even be a trainer for the day, it really is a great experience. There is also an aquarium where you can swim with dolphins, touch sea urchins and even feed sharks while locked in an underwater cage.
Why not take a tequila tour and learn about tequila and the manufacturing process and you even get to sample some of the product. Not a full day out but it will certainly fill a couple of hours.
Out and About
There are many shops in Zona Hotelera, from large shopping malls to flea markets and there is certainly many of them so whatever you are looking for, you will find it here.
There is a whole host of bars and restaurants in this area, something to suit every taste and budget. As far as nightclubs go, you will be spoilt for choice, there are just so many to choose from. There is something for everyone here and I'm sure you will have no problem staying out till sunrise if that's what you want to do.
Nearby Attractions
Just outside Cancun, you will find a go kart circuit where you can reach speeds of up to 80kph, perfect for the adrenaline junkies out there. There are smaller and slower karts for children so it really is a family attraction.
Another beautiful place is the Vallarta Botanical Gardens approx 30km from Puerto Vallarta. The beautiful nature park is full of orchids, bromeliads and wild palms. You can enjoy a nice meal at the restaurant while butterflies and hummingbirds fly around you then afterwards you can take a refreshing dip in the river.
For a scenic trip through the Sierra Madre Mountains, visit the Rancho El Charro and take a 3 to 8 hour trek on a horse. It's a great way to see the area and some rides are even suitable for children.
