Sencelles is located in the centre of Majorca, in the districts of Es Pla and Raiguer. It is known for its production of fine wine, which is the driving force behind the economy of the village.

Sencelles is situated in the heart of Marjorca's central plain, surrounded by natural farmland and vineyards. A traditional village with a good choice of small bars and restaurants, and a lively weekly market which takes place every Wednesday.
Nearby sights of interest include the archaeological site of Son Fred, one of Majorca's prehistoric talayot locations; Can Xico the still functioning windmill and the 18th century church of Sant Pere in the town. Also worth visiting is the Astronomical Observatory at Costitx, with gigantic telescopes and an interactive planetarium.
The islands capital of Palma is a must and less than 25 km away, full of historical sites and museums Palma makes an ideal day excursion; visit the Gothic sights of La Seu Cathedral and Basilica de Sant Francesc, Palace de L'Almudaina found next to the cathedral and Castell de Bellver the only circular castle in Spain.
If you're looking to spend some time with the sand between your toes then you have your pick of beaches. There are numerous stretches of fine sandy beaches within easy driving distance, some with good watersports, remote and unspoilt beaches and even beaches for naturists.
