With enchanting valleys of small houses nestled on the edge of cliffs surrounded by tiny cultivated vineyards, the eastern side of Madeira has a rugged natural beauty - much like the north of the island.

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is a small and attractive resort which offers a peaceful atmosphere and is ideal for families and couples seeking a relaxing area. There are many beautiful walking trails and historical buildings to visit as well as a good range of bars and restaurants. There is a beach in the resort which has a pebbled area laid out with sunloungers.

For those seeking a livelier resort the capital of Funchal is just a 15 minute drive away and the airport is just 2km away.

One of the latest editions in Santa Cruz is small Water Park which makes a great day out for children and adults.
