Beaches
San Pedro de Alcantara offers stunning long sandy beaches perfect for soaking up the glorious sunshine and shallow sea ideal for cooling off and for children to paddle and play. There is a long promenade behind the beach which is filled with beach bars, cafes and restaurants, perfect for a light lunch after a mornings sunbathing.
Things to do
As with many of the coastal resorts of the Costa del Sol, water sports are hugely popular and San Pedro is no exception. Banana boats, pedalos and kayaks are just some of the activities available. The area is also great for snorkelling and scuba diving. For the younger visitors there are plenty of playgrounds near to the beaches for them to let off steam and have some fun.
The town of San Pedro de Alcantara has many monuments and places of interest such as the parish church in the central plaza, medieval fortress and roman baths.
The weekly market is held every Thursday with an array of stalls selling local produce, crafts, clothing, jewellery and souvenirs.
Out and about
The nightlife of San Pedro de Alcantara is laid back and fairy quiet, with most tourists preferring to spend the evenings with a delicious meal in one of the fine restaurants or enjoying a quiet drink in one of the bars. For a livelier nightlife with plenty of bars and nightclubs to choose from head along to Puerto Banus just 3 km away.
Nearby attractions
The fantastic yacht marina in Puerto Banus is stunning to walk along viewing the expensive yachts. The town also has superb shopping opportunities with many designer shops and boutiques.
