Things to Do
The main attraction in Quinta do Lago has to be the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The area is bursting with marine life and has over 50 species of fish, shellfish, lizards, snakes, frogs and otters. There are also rare species of flora and fauna and of course many different birds which makes it very popular with bird watchers. Whilst wandering through the park you may well see the salt lakes and pyramids.
The area is well known for its golf and there are 4 golf courses in Quinta do Lago itself and another one just 5 minutes drive away. Golf is not the only sport, there is tennis, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and a whole range of watersports available in the resort.
The main square is the place to be for live music and dance shows and you can also find classical concerts and art exhibitions at the auditorium.
Out and About
The range of cafes and restaurants here is very good so you will find something to your liking. Although they all offer great food, there are two in particular that also offer great views over the lakes in Ria Formosa.
There are also many bars and clubs, many of which stay open till the early hours which is just perfect for those who want to let their hair down a little.
There is a good selection of boutiques here and a shopping centre here which has many designer shops as well as some cafes and restaurants. There are also some really good shopping centres in Portimao if you feel like venturing further a field.
