Olhos de Agua is a small fishing village which has been developed into the popular tourist destination that it is today whilst still retaining some of it's original charm.

Nightlife is generally limited to the hotels so if you are wanting a late night you would be best to make the trip into Albufeira which is only 6km away. Olhos de Agua is a working fishing village, offering good beaches and cobbled streets.

The local beach is called Praia d%u2019Agua and is a soft sand beach with lots of rock pools which are also used by local fishermen so you can watch them work. The beach is very relaxing with a beautiful backdrop of pine trees and cliffs and there are plenty of sun loungers for relaxing on. The water is great for paddling as it is so shallow and there are plenty of watersports on offer too. Many facilities can be found on the promenade.
Things to Do
Other than the beach, there is not a lot to do in the village but as it is a fishing village, there are many sea fishing trips and coastal boat rides to enjoy. There are plenty of restaurants down at the seafront which are just perfect for relaxing and watching the world go by.
Out and About
Olhos de Agua is a relatively quiet, traditional resort with a handful of good restaurants which are well known for their seafood and regional dishes such as grilled sardines and cataplana. Not only do some of the restaurants serve some fantastic dishes but some also have great views across the atlantic.
There are plenty of bars and this is where the nightlife is to be found but if you want something a bit livelier then head to the Strip in Albufeira which is just a 30 minute walk or a quick taxi ride away.
There are not many shops to speak of in the resort but there are supermarkets, chemists and a few touristy shops for a little souvenir of your trip to Olhos de Agua.
Nearby Attractions
From the championship golf courses of Vilamoura and Vale Do Lobo and the local Balaia Golf Village, there is no end of options for golf lovers.
The countryside in the area is just beautiful and can be explored on foot or even on horseback. Many people enjoying exploring on an off-road jeep safari and going off the beaten track.
There are many boat trips available in the area, whether you fancy doing some dolphin spotting or just a relaxing afternoon at sea, then there is a boat trip to suit.
A great day out is a trip to Zoomarine which is a water park with a variety of water slides and attractions, funfair rides and dolphin and sea lion shows, great fun and certainly something for everyone.
The bigger and busier resort of Albufeira is just a 5 minute drive away and offers a wider selection of shops, restaurants, nightlife and things to do so it%u2019s well worth taking a trip there.
