How Hot?
Summers in the Neapolitan can be very hot indeed, with temperatures rising well into the 80's in July and August. You can expect at least 10 hours of sunshine in the summer with very little chance of rain. If you don't like it quite so hot why not take a trip from March through to June when temperatures can be between 16ºC and 27ºC (60ºF and 80ºF). March can also be quite wet so make sure you have packed your umbrella.
Temperatures in September, October and November range from 15ºC and 25ºC (59ºF and 77ºF) so it is more bearable and probably a little less crowded too.
Out and About
Set around the Bay of Naples with sparkling blue seas, pine covered hills and towns clinging to the cliff-sides, the Neapolitan Riviera occupies arguably the most picturesque spot in the Mediterranean.
As you can imagine, there are some amazing foods to be had in Italy, many of which were born here such as the margherita pizza which originates from Naples, the Caprese salad which is from Capri and of course Napolitana spaghetti sauce and with many restaurants and trattorias you will not go hungry. Naples is also well known for it's quality of gold jewellery and classic architecture.
Anyone visiting the area really must take time out to visit the legendary city of Pompeii, which was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius almost 2000 years ago but preserved by time. Prepare to be amazed by the unique remains of a once thriving settlement.
The medieval town of Sorrento is also well worth seeing, with it's winding lanes packed with bars and restaurants and pretty little harbour. No trip to Sorrento is complete without a boat trip to the island of Capri or Sant Agnello.
Soak up the breathtaking scenery on a drive along the Amalfi coast which stretches from Sorrento and passes through Positano, Amalfi, Minori and Maiori to Salerno. If you visit Amalfi in September, make sure you sample some local limoncello at Amalfi's Lemon Festival.

Neapolitan Riviera has a variety of specialities including Insalata Caprese which is tomatoes with olive oil, basil and mozzarella, Pesce Spada which is swordfish griddles with vinegar, mint and olive oil and lastly Risotto alla Marinara which is seafood with rice. In the Neapolitan Riviera there are numerous restaurants specialising in pizza and seafood. There are eateries on every corner around the area so you will never go hungry.
