Mahdia offers a peaceful 7 km stretch of soft sandy beach with sun loungers laid out ready for use and where travellers can enjoy a range of watersports with jet-skis and pedaloes.

Things to Do

A visit to the town's Medina, reached via the ten metre thick black walls of the Black Passage, is a must for anyone looking to haggle for some bargains at the various stalls and shops selling kaftans to leather goods which are dotted around the bustling marketplaces.

The Great Mosque of Mahdia is worth a visit and there are many other ruins and ancient fortifications spread along the coastline.
