Once a whaling village, Lahaina today is a positioned on the western end of Maui and is a popular and bustling tourist resort providing a range of amenities, hotels, shops and lively restaurants. The resort is known for its famous Banyan Tree which stands in the heart of the town and takes up an entire city block.

Lahaina is a lively resort which focuses mainly on restaurants, shopping and the nightlife. However many sports competitions take place in and around the resort including a PGA golf tournament, reknowned basketball tournament and yacht races.
Visitors can enjoy the Old Lahaina Luau which features fire dancing, traditional food and hula dancing or take a trip on the Sugar Cane Train, also known as the Lahaina Kaanapali Railroad which shuttles between Lahaina and Kaanapali and is the only train in Hawaii.
Other attractions include the Baldwin Home Museum and for those who wish to go out on a boat can enjoy the seasonal whale watching tours.
