Kokkini Hani has become one of the new and up and coming resorts of Crete. The resort is popular with families who are looking for a simple resort with good beaches, modest nightlife and a good selection of amenities close by.

Once a small fishing village, it now boasts an array of modern hotel complexes with a good selection of bars, restaurants, music bars and shops. However the nightlife is low-key and for those wishing more extensive nightlife then the lively hotspots of Malia and Hersonissos are just a short bus / taxi ride away. A great benefit of Kokkini Hani is the waterpark nearby (in the village of Anopolis) where you will find waterslides, artificial wave machines and children pools.

The main beach is on the west side of the resort and offers 400 metres of soft sand which shelves gently into the sea. There are plenty of beach bars and restaurants and for those who wish to get out on the sea can choose between the watersports on offer. The beach can get busy during the peak season and weekends.
Nearby Attractions
The capity of Heraklion is just a 20 minute bus ride away where visitors will find a wealth of restaurants and bars as well as many historical attractions including churches and the waterfront fortress. The Palace of Knossos is also within easy reach and a popular day trip for most visitors.
