Kalyves
Kalyves is positioned about 20km east of Chania and is essentially one long road with side streets leading off it containing houses, shops and restaurants. The village is perfect for those seeking to be positioned in the countryside making it popular with walkers.

A long sandy beach is backed by pine forests and is split into two parts - Maistrali and Xydas. Here you will find shallow waters as well as a range of watersports and sun loungers are laid out ready for hire. For those wishing to explore further, Almyrida Beach is just a ten minute drive away where there is a sheltered cove and plenty of trees for shade.
Nearby Attractions
There are plenty of day trips to be had from Kalyves including taking a 15 minute drive to the ancient ruins of Aptera where there are 1st century Roman ruins. Half an hour away is the lively resort of Chania with its Venetian styled architecture and harbour front fortress.
