Located just 15 minutes south of the Kona International Airport lies the Historic Kailua Village (Kailua-Kona). The resort is a lively seaside town but was once a sleepy fishing village and once a retreat for Hawaiian royalty.

Astronaut Ellison S Onizuka Space Centre which is positioned next to Kona International Airport and offering a space simulator and space related exhibits.

The Huilhe'e Palace is set in beautiful grounds and is filled with artifacts and stunning furniture and gives a glimpse of the royal family.
