Beaches

The coastline is 14km long and feature secluded coves and there are three bays within a km from the village including the Golden beach at Istron, Church beach and Karavostasi beach.

Nearby Attractions

Visitors should take the time to visit the island's capital of Heraklion where there are plenty of historical sites to see including the ancient Minoan ruins and Byzantine churches. From Heraklion harbour it is possible to take boat day trips across to Santorini and Mykonos.
