Georgioupolis, Crete, Greece
Georgioupolis offers visitors a local pleasant village and is a small place that offers charm and Cretan atmosphere despite the many hotels and places to stay. The resort does offer some stunning landscape, vineyards and olive groves and a beautiful sand/shingle beach. Although there is lots to see here and in the neighbouring resorts it is relatively quiet and may not suit young couples and families looking for plenty of entertainment.

Georgioupolis is a small seaside town village is relatively unspoilt and visitors can witness local wildlife and watch the nesting turtles along the sandy beach. The main square is very attractive and offers a choice of tavernas and is ideal for sitting outside and watching the world pass by. For those who like to shop, the narrow shops are filled with small shops. A five minute walk from the central village square is the harbour where there are pretty fishing boats and here visitors can take day trips to nearby resorts. Nightlife here is low-key however there are bars and small nightclubs for those looking for some late night entertainment.

The main beach is a beautiful stretch of white sand that goes on for several kms. The beach offers a choice of watersports and there are also sunloungers available to hire.
Nearby Attractions
Georgiouspolis makes the ideal base for exploring the local area including the towns of Chania and Rethymnon and the many beaches in the surrounding area. The area is steeped in history and there is always historical ruins to be found.
