Copacabana, Brazil
Copacabana Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world and enjoys views to Corcovado Mountain and Sugarloaf Mountain. The beach runs for approx 4km with an attractive promenade lined with beach bars and restaurants offering delicious Brazilian cuisine and international fare. Nightlife is lively with many classic discos and mixed scene clubs.

Copacabana beach is ideal for relaxing, bathing and soaking up the sun and the atmosphere. For surfing, Aproador Beach and Ipanema Beach are just minutes away.
The resort is approx 20km from the International Airport and is in easy reach of famous sights such as Christ the Redeemer Statue, the Botanic Gardens and Tijuca National Park as well as downtown Rio de Janeiro and, the world class sports stadiums, Maracana Soccer Stadium and the Olympic Engenhao Stadium.
Beaches
The 4km long sands of Copacabana Beach are used for sun-bathing and beach games as well as various events, not least the heavily attended New Year's eve celebrations. For surfing, continue past the fort to the beaches of Arpoador and Ipanema or, travel a little further along the coast to Barra de Tijuca.
Things to Do
Surrounding the beach resort of Copacabana you will find the Tijuca National Park, the Urca Mountains, Sugarloaf Mountain, Corcovado Mountain. These famous sight-seeing attractions provide spectacular view points over the city and the Guanabara Bay as well as opportunities for outdoor adventures.
Go hiking in the Tijuca rain forest and rock climbing at the Urca Mountains; take the cable car to Sugarloaf Mountain and take the train to the top of Corcovado Mountain where you can stand at the foot of the Christ the Redeemer Statue.
Out and About
The beach is backed by an attractive promenade, paved in black and white stones laid out in a distinctive pattern, designed by Roberto Burle Marx, which makes for a great walk any time of the day and ends at the historic Fort of Copacabana.
There is plenty of choice when it comes to beach bars, cafes and restaurants and, in the evenings there is a good choice of discos and clubs too.
Nearby Attractions
Other nearby natural attractions are the picturesque Rodrigo de Freitas Lake, where you can hire bikes and paddle boats and stroll, skate or cycle around the perimeter.
For outdoor sports and activities, the Parque de Flamengo is a beautiful park, approx 4km away, which runs along the coast into downdown Rio.
For historical and cultural attractions, Rio de Janerio city centre is just 8km away.
