Castellon, Costa del Azahar, Spain
As one of the most mountainous provinces in Spain, Castellon offers fantastic opportunities for those interested in mountain walks and those who enjoy the atmosphere of sleepy villages.

Beaches
There are many beaches in Castellon but perhaps the best one is Voramar beach, it's very peaceful and calm and has the best sea conditions for water sports such as windsurfing, catamaran and kitesurfing.
Things to Do
There are several places of interest in Castellon, such as the Gothic Cathedral, the Bell - Tower, the Bishop's Palace and the Museum of modern art.
Castellon also has its own planetarium which proves to be a great day out for all the family and is relatively cheap too.
Out and About
There are many bars and restaurants in Castellon, many of which offer typically Mediterranean foods such as paella and various other rice dishes. There are plenty of shops if you fancy a wander around the resort.
Nearby Attractions
If you want to escape the heat, visit the Caves of San Jose. The caves are fantastic and it is possible to take a boat trip along one of the largest underground rivers in Europe. Another great way to keep cool is a visit to a water park, the closest one being in Benicassim which is approx 10km away and is a great day out for all the family.
There are also many golf courses in the area.
Spain's third largest city, Valencia is approx 65km away and offers a whole host of things to see and do such as the Cathedral, Gardens of Turia, Aquarium, shopping and lots lots more.
