An off the beaten track resort with small rocky coves. A quaint village ideal for rest and relaxation. Due to the lack of facilities, Cala Morrell is not recommended for families and young couples, more for those who intend on doing absolutely nothing.

Beaches

There is a beach but it is quite small and can be pebbly in parts but the crystal clear waters in the cove make it perfect for scuba diving and snorkeling.

Things to Do

There really isn't anything to do in Cala Morrell but the resort is known for the Necropolis which is 14 man made caves. Dating back to the pretalayotic period, the caves were used as a burial ground. The caves are quite something and are a must see whilst in Cala Morell.

Out and About

There are not many facilities in Cala Morrell but you will find one shop, a bar and a restaurant with fantastic views over the bay.

Ciutadella is not far away and has a great selection of shops, bars, restaurants and attractions.

Nearby Attractions

There may not be much going on in the actual resort but there is plenty going on in the surrounding area.

Approx 7km from Ciutadella, there is a shopping and entertainment park with various shops, including the island's largest Lladro showroom and various souvenir shops. When you have done a little shopping, you could relax on the grassy lawns, have a game of mini golf, have a shot on the trampolines or the climbing wall. There are also swimming pools and water slides so plenty of fun for all the family.

There is horse riding farm at Son Angel which offers various different riding experiences. Trotting races are also held at the weekends in Mahon and Ciutadella. The jockey has to stop the horse from breaking into a gallop. These races have been popular for over 200 years.

There is a water park at Cala en Blanes and there are some great water slides and attractions for all the family. There is also a restaurant here for snacks and meals.

There are many interesting historic buildings spread throughout Ciutadella and there are also many shops and restaurants to be found in and around the many cobbled streets. If you need a little rest after all your sightseeing you can have a drink in one of the harbour cafes and watch the world go by.

Not only are you close to Menorca's old capital, Ciutadella, you are also close to the current capital, Mahon. Mahon has plenty opportunities for sightseeing as well as lots of shops, bars and restaurants so you will find plenty to do and see.
