Things to Do
Cala Galdana is a great base for exploring the Menorcan countryside. There are many coastal paths that will take you to secluded natural beaches which have been relatively untouched by tourism.
There is a good range of activities available here too, such as scuba diving, snorkeling, boat trips, mini golf and cycling, plenty of options for those who want to be active.
Take the kids to Goody Goody Park where they can run off some energy with ball pits, bouncy castles, trampolines and so much more. Another great option for the whole family is Aquarock Water Park which has loads of slides and water attractions for everyone to enjoy.
If you are in the resort at the end of August, you will be able to take part in the fiesta of the Patron Saint of Bartomeu. There will be dancing horses, traditional costumes and parades through the streets. The traditional Andalucian horses also put on an equestrian show during the summer months on a Wednesday and Sunday evening.
Out and About
The restaurants in Cala Galdana will cater for most tastes, with fresh seafood, tapas, international and British cuisine being offered. Most of the evening entertainment will be found in the resort's hotels with live music and shows. The clifftop is a good place to go at night as there are a few bars and restaurants that offer some great views over the coast. If you are looking for more in the way of nightlife then you should visit one of the many clubs in Ciutadella which is not far away.
There are several supermarkets dotted around the resort as well as some souvenir shops and clothes shops but there is a better choice in Ferreries and even more options in Ciutadella.
Nearby Attractions
You may intend on venturing into Ciutadella for some shopping or something to eat but there is lots going on here, it really is worth a visit. There are so many interesting buildings here, including the cathedral which was built in 1362. There are lots of cafes/bars dotted along the harbour which is perfect for a little refreshment at any time of day or night.
For something a little different, visit the Menorca Cheese Factory which is just outside Ferreries. You can take a tour of the museum, see how the cheese is made and then sample some of the cheeses that are made here. Not your average day out but quite enjoyable all the same.
For those with a particular interest in shopping, you may want to visit the factory shop for one of the island's most famous leather shoes and goods manufacturer. You would normally find these goods in exclusive shops back home but sell for a fraction of the price in the factory shop in Ferreries.
