Cala'n Blanes, Menorca, Spain
Over the years, Cala'n Blanes has more or less merged with its neighbouring resorts, Cala'n Forcat and Los Delfines to create one of the biggest and liveliest resorts on the island. The resort offers visitors a choice of shops, restaurants and bars. It's not all banging nightlife though, enjoy dinner al fresco or partake in a buzzing bar further along the resort.

Cala'n Blanes offers a sandy beach and small rocky inlets. The resort is best suited to families with young children and younger couples. Transfer time is 1 hour 15 minutes.

The beach at Cala'n Blanes is probably the best beach in the area and with its fine white sand and warm, calm waters, it is easy to see why. There are palm trees and pines at the edge of the beach which can create some much needed shade at certain times of the day. There are some beach cafes which is ideal if you need a bite to eat and there is a diving school too.
The beach can get quite busy at times during the summer months.
Things to Do
There is a dive centre in Cala'n Blanes and they can provide equipment hire, lessons and even dive tours so will suit beginners and the more experienced diver. There are also plenty of opportunities for sailing here too.
There is a mini train that runs along the road from the beach to Cala'n Forcat which is a good way of getting about.
Out and About
There is a good choice of restaurants here and you will find anything from fast food restaurants to traditional Spanish restaurants, catering for all tastes and budgets. Evening entertainment is mainly hotel based but there are plenty of bars that can get quite lively at night. There are no nightclubs here but plenty to be found in nearby Cala n Forcat or Ciudadella.
You will find plenty of shops in the resort so you should be able to get most things without venturing to other resorts. Ciudadella also has a market if you fancy looking for a bargain.
Nearby Attractions
If you are not content with lying around on the beach every day, there is plenty to do in the area.
There is a water park in Los Delfines which caters for smaller children and a bigger water park in Cala'n Bosch which has many great water slides for all ages and loads of other attractions too such as play areas, games room and go karting, so definitely something for the whole family.
There is also crazy golf, glass bottom boat tours and horse riding to be found in nearby resorts.
Not only does Ciudadella have a great selection of shops and restaurants, there are also many historic things to see such as the 14th century gothic cathedral, a couple of museums and the remains of the fortified walls. For the perfect end to your day, venture down to the harbour for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere.
The capital, Mahon also has it's fair share of historic buildings such as La Mola, a gigantic fort which is located at the harbour side and the Baroque church of Santa Maria to name but a few. Many people come to Mahon to shop and will certainly not be disappointed. There are many bars, restaurants and nightclubs too, so it may well be worth staying over to take full advantage of what Mahon has to offer.
