Bitez is popular among those looking for a bit of peace and relaxation and those who want to be a bit more active and participate in a range of watersports.

Set behind a crescent shaped bay and surrounded by groves of orange trees and olive trees, the resort has a laid back charm and a long beach. Nightlife is very quiet, compared to the nearby resort of Bodrum but there are plenty of places to eat and drink and no shortage of beach activities, boat trips and water sports. Bodrum Airport is 40km away with a transfer time of around 55mins.

The soft sand beach shelves gently into clear warm waters which are ideal for swimming and snorkelling. The beach has plenty of sun loungers where you can laze with a refreshing drink served by one of the many beach bars and watch the windsurfers in the afternoon.
Things to Do
Take a boat trip on a traditional gulet from Bitez Harbour on the turquoise blue waters of the Aegean, maybe do some snorkelling and fishing or just soak up the sun and the views.
Have fun on the wave river and water slides at the Dedeman Bodrum Aqua Park. The park is open from the end of May until the end of September and there is a free shuttle service which runs from Bitez every day.
Go scuba diving or have fun at the beach. There is a PADI certified diving school offering courses and trips, a windsurfing centre, a water sports centre offering ringo and banana boat rides as well as parasailing and water-skiing and there is also a small centre hiring kayaks.
Out and About
There is a plentiful choice of bars and restaurants along the promenade behind the beach with views across the bay. Nightlife is low key and for discos and nightclubs you might head into Bodrum.
You can stroll through the peaceful orchard lined lane to Bitez village which lies approx 2km inland. Here you can discover the tranquility of life away from the beach and, if you go on a Thursday, you can browse the stalls of the weekly Farmers Market.
Nearby Attractions
Bodrum is just 7km away and easily reached via the local dolmus service (approx 10-15 minutes). In Bodrum, you can visit the medieval castle, stroll around the marina or browse the many shops. Markets are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The lively beach resort of Gumbet lies in the neighbouring bay (approx 4km) and is a great place to enjoy a wide variety of watersports from pedalos and banana boats to parasailing and water skiing.
