The beaches in Algeciras have soft sand which gently slopes into the calm shallow waters making ideal for families. Sun loungers and parasols are available for hire plus numerous water sports are also available. Refreshments can be found in one of the many cafe's or restaurants along the seafront.
Things to do
Scuba diving is a popular pastime due to fascinating ancient wreckages in the area, the local dive school offers lessons and dives suitable for beginners and experienced divers. For a fun filled family day out head to Bahia Aqua park. The park has many exciting water-slides and chutes suitable for kids of all ages.
Out and about
There are many dining options in the resort, along the seafront visitors will find a good selection of restaurants offering traditional Spanish cuisine plus some fine fish and seafood restaurants. There are also some very good Tapas bars and cafes. The Night-life here can be fairly lively, many bars and tavernas offer live music and stay open til late
Nearby attractions
For a great day out the Bay of Gibraltar is just 9 miles away and is great for dolphin spotting. Another great excursion is a boat trip to Morocco where you can take in the sights of Casablanca, Fez and Tangiers.
