Albena has a 6km long, wide sandy beach enhanced by the warm summer waters of the Black Sea, which set a picturesque scene for water-sports and outdoor activities.
The resort has a diving centre with tuition available and from the beach there are opportunities for surfing, jet skis and water bikes, water skiing, para-sailing and kayaking.
Things to Do
The resort of Albena is quite focused on sports and hosts numerous national and international sports events. Sports facilities include 3 football stadiums, a sports hall with courts for tennis, volleyball, basketball, badminton and table tennis; an equestrian centre and riding school. There are also 2 beautiful golf courses within 20km.
Boat trips are available around the Black Sea coast. On land, you could take a serene eco-tour through the Baltata Nature Reserve or an exhilarating jeep safari at the Batovo Forest.
Out and About
Day trips and sight-seeing excursions are available to suit all interests and you could visit the botanic gardens and the Palace of Queen Maria in the neighbouring town of Balchik, be entertained at the Dolphinarium in Varna, explore the historic churches and architecture in Nessebar or soak up the picturesque scenery and learn of village life in the countryside.
