Morocco is divided into 3 natural areas, the fertile northern coastal Plain along the Mediterranean, the rich plateaus and lowlands which lie between the rugged Atlas mountains and the semi arid area in southern and eastern Morocco.
The imperial cities of Marrakech and Fez are steeped in medieval history and well worth a visit, you may even be able to pick up a bargain in the Marrakech medina which is full of merchants selling a variety of goods. If it's a lazy beach holiday then Agadir is the best place to be.
How Hot?
Morocco is hot and sunny for most of the year, providing ideal temperatures suitable for all itineraries. If you're planning a beach holiday then the ideal time to visit is from May to October, for a desert safari November to April and to the Atlas Mountains April to October.
For a city break to Marrakech or Fes, then March to June and September to November are the best times to visit avoiding the uncomfortable heat of July and August; whereby the cities of Casablanca, Rabat, Essaouira and Tangiers all benefit from a cool ocean breeze.
