One of the seven emirates, Fujairah is popular with those looking for good weather and a good range of watersports.
Fujairah
Fujairah is the only one of the emirates that has a coastline solely on the Gulf of Oman whereas the others are positioned on the Arabian Gulf. The Hajar Mountains separate Fujairah from the rest of the emirates.
You cannot fly directly to Fujairah however Dubai is only a two hour drive away or can be reached via nearby Oman.
Things to Do
There are limited attractions including the Heritage Village which depicts the traditional way of life with farming tools, ancient buildings and the Fujairah Fortress. The Fujairah Fortress is the oldest fort in the UAE.
The Fujairah museum is found close to the Fortress and displays artifacts found in archeological digs at Bithnah and Qidfa.
Beaches
Al Aqah Beach is positioned between the Hajar mountains and the sea and there are plenty of first class hotels which line the beaches.
Just a few miles from Al Aqah Beach is Sandy beach where there is a beautiful beach and visitors can swim out to Snoopy Island and enjoy the fantastic snorkelling and scuba diving possibilities.
