Calella, Costa Brava, Spain
Calella is a lively beach resort which appeals to a wide range of holidaymakers, whether you're part of a family, couple or group of friends this resort has plenty to offer. The summer months and peak season are very busy with those who are drawn to the area for the long hot sunny days but Calella is also ideal for those wanting a winter getaway with a mild climate and more relaxed atmosphere.

There is a sports complex, and you can enjoy the various traditional festivals which are held here every year. Santa Susanna features a golden sandy beach and is particularly popular with families. There are a number of bars, restaurants and nightclubs and the old town is ideal for seeing the sights of the monuments and buildings. 1 hours 15 minutes transfer.
Beaches
There are 3 main beaches in Calella and offer soft sand for kids to play and Blue Flag standard clear waters safe for swimming. Water sports such as sailing, kayaking and pedalos are available plus plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for those who prefer to relax and take it easy. There are also playgrounds for the little ones. Refreshments can be found in one of the many open air cafes, bars and restaurants situated along the promenade just behind the beach.
Things to do
Away from the beach there is lots for visitors to see and do, there is a town museum, a lovely parish church and park with play areas and fountains. If you're visiting the area in mid September don't miss the Minerva music festival, this fantastic event includes contests and huge parades. All sorts of excursions are also available including sightseeing tours and boat trips.
Out and about
The night life in Calella is varied, there are many bars and clubs open til the early hours for those who want to party the night away but also there are numerous bars in the older part of the town for those wanting a more relaxed evening. There is a wide variety of dining choices with restaurants offering local and international cuisines.

A day trip to Barcelona is a must do when visiting Calella. Just half an hour away by car Barcelona offers museums, stunning architecture and so much more. Visit the Gothic Quarter or maybe stroll along the famous mile long La Rambla where street entertainers, cafes and stalls line the street.
