Benicassim is probably best known for the international festival every summer with thousands coming to see a variety of different acts.
Benicassim
It is a great place for families, with fantastic beaches and a waterpark there is no shortage of things to do. The Carmelite monastery is just outside Benicassim and well worth a visit.
Benicassim is approx 92km from Valencia Airport, 1 hr and 12 mins transfer by coach.
Beaches
Benicassim offers over 6km of beautiful sandy beaches which makes up 5 beaches, all of which have been awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness and range of facilities offered to tourists.
The clear and safe waters make for ideal conditions for a variety of watersports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Things to Do
Benicassim is well known for hosting the International Indyrock Festival each year in July and the variety of groups playing at the event attracts many visitors. The resort is also home to an 18th century Neoclassical-style parish church, a Vicente watch tower and medieval Montomes Castle which all prove to be very popular attractions.
Another popular attraction for all the family is the water park, there are many water slides and attractions, a great day out for one and all. Benicassim also has it's own go- kart circuit.
Although there are many water sports available in Benicassim, there are also many activities available on dry land such as cycling, hiking and walking trails, it really is a great way to explore the fantastic nature in and around the resort.
Out and About
With it's many great beaches and great choice of restaurants, Benicassim is the perfect place to just wander about or have in drink in one of the bars and watch the world go by. A lot of the more Spanish bars and restaurants can be found tucked away in side streets so it's definitely worth wandering around to see what you can discover.
Nearby Attractions
If you are looking for something a little more active then why not participate in a round or two of golf at one of the many golf courses in the area.
For something a little different and away from the hot sun, take a trip to Vall d%u2019Uxo where you will find the natural San Jose Caves with an underground river and cave paintings.
Peniscola is just over an hours drive from Benicassim and offers beautiful beaches, medieval buildings and a great selection of bars and restaurants.
