There is a good selection of shops, bar and restaurants along the promenade which is ideal if you want to take a break from the sun. There are plenty of watersports available at the beach including pedal boats, banana boating, water skiing and jet skiing. The beach can become very busy and noisy, especially in the summer months.
The beaches in Palma Nova, which is within walking distance, may be more suitable for those with small children as there is not so much going on and it's a little quieter.
Things to Do
There is certainly no shortage of activities in Magaluf and with such a range available, there is something for everyone. The House of Katmandu is an upside-down house that offers a host of games, puzzles and attractions for the whole family to enjoy. During the summer months, visitors can try their hand at karting which is a great alternative to lazing about on the beach.
The family-friendly daytime show 'Pirates' is well worth a visit. The live entertainment show will see artists dancing and performing some spectacular acrobatic routines. If you prefer, you could visit the adults only version in the evening. For a more sophisticated night out why not visit the Gran Casino Theatre which offers a Vegas-style dinner and cabaret.

Boat trips are also popular, especially the dolphin watching trip which can be taken from most of the beaches in the area and allows adults and children to get up close to the dolphins. The Nemo submarine is also great and gives you the chance to see the island's unique marine life whilst staying dry. The trip lasts for almost 2 hours and includes refreshments, fish-feeding, a dive show and nearly an hour underwater in the submarine.
