Qawra, Malta
Qawra is quieter than neighbouring resorts but still offers cafes, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. There is a shingle beach where you can take part in many watersports. If you are looking for somewhere a bit livelier, you will find a good selection of shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment in Bugibba which is well within walking distance.

Qawra is located on a peninsula, surrounded by the waters of St Pauls Bay, the Mediterranean Sea and Salina Bay. There are rocky beaches providing access to swim in the clear blue sea or why not take advantage of the many dive centres in and around Qawra. There are some sunbathing platforms and big flat rocks to bask on at the neighbouring resort of Bugibba.
Things to Do
The Malta Classic Car Museum (located near the Bus Station) has a large display of classic cars, interspersed with fashions, motorbikes, model cars and jukeboxes of bygone eras. The Museum also has a restoration area, video documentaries and a coffee shop.
At the Malta Marina Park you can swim with the dolphins or or watch the entertaining and informative shows with sea lions, dolphins and tropical birds. The Splash & Fun Water Park has thrill slides and family slides, a lazy river, a children's splash park and a wave pool, zorbing and rides for small children. There is also a cafe and barbecue parties in the evenings.
Splash & Fun Water Park (open from mid May to early October) and the Malta Marine Park (open all year round with limited winter hours) are located next door to each other and less than 10 minutes away, on the bus.
Out and About
There are lots of bars, pubs and restaurants in Qawra and, as the resort merges with Bugibba, you also have easy access to the multi-screen cinema and the nightlife in and around Bugibba Square. Or why not spend an evening at the Oracle Casino, located at the Dolmen Resort Hotel, which has the excitement of the table games as well as a couple of hundred slots, including many penny machines.
Chill out and indulge in a little pampering at one of the resort's Spas; relax amid the warm tones of the Moroccan styled Le Marquis Spa at the San Antonio Hotel; the contemporary Soul Solutions Spa at the Sunny Coast Resort Hotel or; the serenity of the Myoka Spa at the Dolmen Resort Hotel.
Nearby Attractions
There are some excellent dive spots around the island of Malta (and plenty of diving centres offering courses and dives) and there opportunities for watersports including sausage rides, jet skiing, and windsurfing. The sandy beaches at Golden Bay and Mellieha Bay are both within 10km and easily accessible.
The bus station is just behind the Dolmen Resort Hotel with regular service into Valletta and many other ancient towns and coastal resorts. Alternatively there are organised excursions including boat trips to Gozo and Comino and coach trips to popular sightseeing attractions.
