Bugibba, Malta
Part of a group of neighbouring resorts, Buggibba is the liveliest, and the most developed with a selection of shops, many bars, restaurants, a cinema and a casino. There is not a sandy beach in the resort but there are access points to the sea for swimming and there is a beach in Mellieha Bay which is just 8km away.

Buggibba offers a lively nightlife it is a den of activity when night falls. During the day expect to see excellent views of St Pauls Bay. Within walking distance is the neighbouring resort of Qawra which is linked to Buggibba by a promenade. There are no sandy beaches in this area, expect to find a rocky seafront, and natural lidos. Transfer time is approximately 35 minutes from Malta airport.

Bugibba has a long promenade running along the eastern coast of St Pauls Bay. The waters are deep and clear and ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving. Indeed there is a choice of diving centres in the resort for equipment hire and PADI certified courses. For sunbathing, there is a small man-made beach and plenty of areas with flat rocks which are perfect for basking in the sun.
Things to Do
There are 2 harbours in Bugibba and boarding at least one boat trip during your holiday is a must. Popular trips include the Valetta harbour tours and cruises to the island of Comino, the Blue Lagoon and the island of Gozo.
Children will enjoy splashing around at the Bugibba Water Park, which has all sorts of colourful showers, jets and water cannons. It is open from June to September and conveniently located on the promenade, close to Bugibba Square. A larger water park with slides and lazy river etc, can be found at Splash & Fun (approx 6km away).
An easy way to get your bearings and learn a little about the resort is to jump on the land train that runs around the seafront of Bugibba and St Paul's Bay and also ventures into the side streets.
Out and About
A stroll along the promenade in Bugibba will lead you to the resort of Qawra to the east, or the old town of St Pauls Bay to the west. There are many shops, bars, discos and restaurants in Bugibba, along the promenade and throughout the resort. For a vibrant evening atmosphere, you need venture no further than Bugibba Square. Alternatively catch up with a movie at the 7 screen Empire Cinema Complex.
The best shops are probably to be found in Valletta, which also hosts a daily market (near the Malta Experience) as well as a busy Sunday market, just outside the city.
Nearby Attractions
Bugibba is well served by the local bus network and you can easily take a bus to the sandy beaches in the north; the historic capital of Valletta and charming inland towns or; to the nightlife capital of Paceville, at St Julian's Bay. The main bus station is located behind the Dolmen Resort Hotel on the boundaries of Qawra. Organised excursions to popular tourist attractions are also readily available.
