Albir is a small resort situated 15 minutes from Benidorm and is ideal for those wanting to escape the busy beaches of Benidorm.

Albir provides a quieter base to neighbouring Benidorm, and unlike its neighbour propertys are low-rise with five floors generally being the highest, there's a greater sense of space in Albir with wide tree lined roads and plenty of parking.

Albir has a 600-metre stretch of pebbly beach, backed by the main promenade lined with bars and restaurants. The Paseo de las Estrellas (star promenade) has Hollywood style plaques dedicated to national film stars, due to the International Film Festival which takes place annually in the adjacent town of Alfas during the first week of July.
During the summer months the beach has three lifeguards on duty and a first aid post, public toilets can be found in the centre of the promenade. There's a watersports centre here which offers sailing, snorkelling, diving trips and more.
Things to do
For fun days out, Benidorm is the place to head, home to the Terra Mitica theme park and neighbouring TerraNatura zoo and aquapark, the Mundomar Sea Life and Animal Park and next to this is Aqualandia Benidorm aquapark.
The Terra Mitica theme park has adrenaline rides and kids rides, set amid ancient Mediterranean themes, with daily shows, ranging from Roman circus acts to Egyptian and Greek dancers, there's also plenty of cafes and fast food outlets to keep you going for the whole day.
The TerraNatura Aquapark features a wave pool, hydrotherapy pool, kids pool, chutes for all ages, grassed picnic areas and a sun deck with jacuzzis. TerraNatura Zoo boasts over 1500 animals living in beautifully landscaped natural habitats including many endangered species.
The Mundomar Sea Life and Animal Park is a landscaped tropical delight with plenty of animals and colourful birds. Spend the whole day here and you can watch a host of entertaining shows with dolphins and sea lions, parrots and exotic birds. Families can take a break at the children's play area and when you're hungry, there is an a'la Carte restaurant as well as a cafe, snack bar and a number of kiosks to choose from.
Aqualandia Benidorm aquapark has plenty of eateries and everything you need for a fun filled day from kamikaze chutes and exhilarating rapids to the relaxing jacuzzi pool and kid's adventureland.
Out and about
Albir has a number of restaurants to choose from, and there are plenty of souvenir shops as well as a craft market which takes place in the summer evenings along the Stars promenade.
For a larger choice of bars, pubs, nightlife, restaurants and shops Benidorm is the place, and if you want to avoid the ordeal of finding a parking space in Benidorm there is a regular bus service which runs every 15 minutes during the day and takes around 20 minutes, bus stops are denoted by the letter 'P'.
Nearby Attractions
Just outside Albir on the road into Benidorm is the Castillo del Conde de Alfaz, it's a great night out for the whole family to enjoy, the entry fee includes a medieval supper, while be entertained by medieval knights showing off their skills of horsemanship and jousting. When the show is finished the disco starts, continuing till late.
For a real flavour of Spain, head on up the road to the picturesque town of Altea (3km), browse the art galleries and stop for lunch in an authentic Spanish restaurant.
Around a one hour drive inland from Albir (25km) is the village of Guadalest, a strategic military stronghold with fortifications dating back to 715AD. It's a popular tourist attraction and its cobbled streets are filled with shops, crafts and restaurants.
